New Cascadia Traditional = Best Gluten Free Bakery
Ok. Admittedly I have not tried every gluten free bakery in the world, but I feel like my search is over for gf pizza, sandwiches, and sweet and savory treats.
Let those who can eat gluten spend their time in Portland waiting in line at Voodoo Doughnuts. (Hint: I've done that too... the doughnuts ART NOT worth it.) As for me, I'm heading across the river to New Cascadia.
Whaa? Beer & Wine at Starbucks?
I just saw a liquor license application notice on a window at a Starbucks in Emeryville. A little investigation shows they're already doing it in some cities, but this is the first I've heard of it in The Bay Area. It's called Starbucks Evenings. They will someday own the world. Boo!
A birthday tradition
For the last 13 years or so, we’ve celebrated Alec’s birthday at the Matterhorn Restaurant in San Francisco — sometimes with a large party, sometimes small. This time it was just fondue for 3. Happy (early) 22nd, Bud.
Sixieme Sens
Sixieme Sens (Sixth Sense) is a fantastic restaurant in Paris. Make a reservation though, because there are probably only 4-5 tables and the chef is also the wait staff.
